Crysis On Windows 10 64 Bit

I am trying to install Crysis (original) in Windows 10. I read that it will work perfectly after you disable windows 10 compatibility engine and it's assistant. My search led me to these instructions http:// which says 'Keep in mind that you must know what you are doing and what software you run. Incompatible software can really make yous system even not bootable!'
The instructions are very easy & doable for me. I'm wondering why that poster said 'you must know what you are doing'. My PC knowledge is intermediate. I have never delved into Run & changed any filenames though. Please advise. Thank you.

Jul 09, 2016 The 'other' problem of course is that Crysis uses securom, and of course Windows 10 blocks securom from installing it's system drivers so you need a less than reputable exe file for the game to work at all on windows 10 (oh and it still needs compatibility set to vista and run as admin).

Every App or Game would not be compatible with all versions of Windows. If the particular game is built for older versions of Windows, it may not work on Windows 10.

I would suggest you to install the game in a compatibility mode and check if this works. Compatibility mode runs the program using settings from a previous version of Windows.

Follow these steps to install the game in compatibility mode.

Right-click on the game setup file and click on ‘properties’.

Click on the ‘compatibility’ tab and check the box ‘Run this program in compatibility mode for’ and select Windows 8/8.1 operating system from the drop down menu and proceed with the installation.
Once this is done, restart the computer and check if the issue persists.

If the above steps doesn't work, I suggest you to contact the game developers team and check.

This game definitely does not require a Compatibility setting.

Same with the Origin Client, but the Client may need an update, and you will likely need to be on line

so Origin can verify our account ( because of the new Windows version).

- Are you using the games shortcut ? If so, will Origin open to our account when using the

Origin.exe or shortcut instead ?

If it does not open, the Origin Client may be corrupt and need repairing or reinstalling.

- Or it may be the game needs repairing ( R/click on the games title in your Origin games window

and go to RepairGame )

To do this, enter the required activation code into the corresponding field.

I am able to open origin by double clicking the origin icon on my desktop screen. Weather I double click the crysis 3 icon or click play from the origin window I get the same error message. I have already tried to repair the game but still the same error. All my other games on origin launch correctly.

Then it would seem the problem is with Crysis 3.

If repairing didn't help, a reinstall may. It's a long shot, but I don't know what else it could be.

- Hmm, I don't see a 'Hunter edition' on Origin. Digital Deluxe and Maximum, but no Hunter.

Is the Hunter edition a special retail disk version ?

Mine is the Standard retail disk version and it runs fine on Win10 (also not in C: )

If there are issues with other editions and Win10 you may do better to post on the EA/Crysis 3 forums.

Yes. I bought it in a shop before. The origin symbol is on the back of the box. Reinstalling the game did not help.

Looking again, it seems Origin may use 'Digital Deluxe' instead of 'Hunter edition' for the same version.

Fresh out of suggestions though. Hopefully you can find something on the EA/Crysis forums .

If the game cannot be activated though Origin you may have to return the game to the shop

( EB Games here in Oz allow a return within the first week).

It's fixed now. When I ran the game this time there was a prompt from origin saying to put in my login details again to activate my game. The game ran straight away after I activated it. It must have been the last origin update that fixed the issue.
